| The gear selection is operated electrically by a 2-position, 4-way solenoid valve housed within the drive assembly and the clutches are actuated hydraulically from an integral pump. Electrical supply can be either 12v or 24v. The gear shift is pre-set and determined automatically from input speeds taken from the engine's tachometer. In normal running there are no user controls to worry about, although there are three shift points available for the owner to adjust for different sea conditions. The installing dealer is trained by Newage-PRM on how to set the up and down shift points during commissioning. The unit features an automatic fail-safe so in the event of electrical failure, 1:1 drive is maintained.
